Lindenhurst Middle School students recently explored the world from their very own school’s gymnasium during the school’s 16th annual International Day. In small groups of two or three, middle school seventh and eighth grade students set up booths that detailed different countries around the world.

Students displayed photos and memorabilia and served traditional foods from the countries they researched. They also played music native to these countries and dressed in clothing specific to that culture.

Throughout the day, votes are cast and students are selected as the winner of various categories including Best Food, Best Display Board, Best 3D and Best Overall. This year’s Best Overall winners were Waleyssa Laguerre, Zoe Moreno Rodriguez and Michelle Vinas Gutierrrez (Dominican Republic).
