Available Resources for Families - Reporting Child Abuse & Maltreatment

  • State Central Registry operated by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) (800-342-3720)
  • HEARS Family Line (888-554-3277) will assist families by providing resources and referrals to various services, including food, clothing, housing, medical and behavioral healthcare, parenting education, and childcare.

  • Pride for Youth

    Individual and family counseling is available to LGBTQ folks through age 30. Licensed counselors and interns can facilitate exploration of gender identity, sexual orientation, the coming out process, sexual health needs and other areas of concern related to the experiences of LGBTQ individuals. Appointments are available Monday-Friday.

        • The Cohen Children’s Pediatric Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center provides timely access to pediatric mental health services for children and adolescents (age 5-17) presenting in a mental health crisis. The program is designed as an alternative treatment setting urgent (same day) intervention but does not necessarily require the services of the emergency room.

        • Provides urgent evaluations and treatment to assist children and adolescents (ages 5-17) and their families experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Crisis psychotherapy, evidence-based screening/risk assessments, coordination of care, short-term crisis treatment, referral and linkage to follow-up care, accessing higher level of care as needed.
