Lindy grad gives back!
Kim is a first-generation Nicaraguan-Turkish American and graduate student at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), specializing in Economic and Political Development with a focus on Latin America. At Columbia, she served as Vice President of the First Generation Student Union, championing equitable access to resources for first-generation and low-income students. A proud Pickering Fellow and contractor for the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, Kim is preparing for a career as a U.S. diplomat. Previously, Kim worked as a Binational Business Fulbright Fellow in Mexico City, for nonprofits, and in the private sector.
When she spoke with our students, she spoke about high school, coursework, participation in clubs, and how she accomplished her goals. When she opened it up for questions the students spent a lot of time asking about her goals and her accomplishments. As a Lindenhurst grad, the kids really resonated with her.
