Students in Patricia Swanson’s fourth grade class at Harding Avenue recently participated in a class debate about the American Revolution for their social studies unit. Students dressed in costume, practiced their roles and debated either as a loyalist or patriot.

Through the activity students learned what early American culture was like and how people felt under Great Britain’s rule.
