At the annual Cross-Country All-County Dinner, Lindenhurst High School senior Matt Remsen received the Ronan Guyer Memorial Scholarship.

The prestigious accolade is given to only one male and one female runner each year in Suffolk County. The award is in memory of Ronan Guyer who ran for the Southold cross-country team and tragically passed away at the 2012 State Meet in Buffalo, New York. The award recognizes athletes who stand out for both service to the team and their community.

Matt is a key participant in a multitude of local charitable organizations such as Lindy Cares Coalition, church meal delivery and the Christina Renna Foundation for pediatric cancer. He dedicates time as a volunteer at the local Kiwanis, Civic Association and Fire Department events.
