Lindenhurst Middle School Moving-Up Ceremony Commemorates Academic Accomplishment

Lindenhurst Middle School’s eighth grade students celebrated their moving up on June 23 with a ceremony that celebrated their accomplishments as middle school students and offered encouragement as they prepare to take the next step in their academic journey.

The celebratory event included words from Principal Frank Naccarato and Superintendent of Schools Daniel E. Giordano who spoke to students about the importance of gratitude and exercising gratitude throughout one’s life.

Additionally, the top 10 students were acknowledged for their accomplishments, and students were recognized for various awards and achievements, such as perfect attendance. Awards included the New York State Comptroller Awards, Attorney General Awards, Outstanding Physical Education Awards and the Suffolk County Executive Public Service Award.

As a highlight to the ceremony, the middle school eighth grade chorus sang a beautiful rendition of John Lennon’s “Imagine.”
