Lindenhurst Board of Education Recognizes Outstanding Student and Staff Accomplishments

At the May 3 meeting of the Lindenhurst Union Free School District Board of Education, the Board recognized several outstanding accomplishments of students from Lindenhurst High School and three staff members for their dedication to the students of Lindenhurst.

The recognitions began with the Board honoring the top 20 students who earned the highest grade point averages of the Lindenhurst High School Class of 2023. These elite students were commended for their dedication, effort and perseverance which earned them a top spot in their graduating class.

The recognitions continued by the district honoring three staff members from Lindenhurst Schools who were the recipients of the Annual SCOPE Educational Services Service Awards. Director of Fine and Performing Arts Jonathan Trapani received the SCOPE Administrator Service Award, Daniel Street Elementary School senior stenographer Joanne Daly was the recipient of the SCOPE Support Staff Service Award and William Rall Elementary School third grade teacher Michele Rollman was awarded the SCOPE Teacher Service Award.

Concluding the recognitions, the Board honored Lindenhurst Robotics Team 533, the PSIcotics, for their outstanding season, winning the 2023 Long Island Regional FIRST Robotics Championship at Hofstra University and earning themselves an invitation to the World Championship in Houston.
