On Sunday, Oct. 23, the Lindenhurst Union Free School District hosted the USBands New York Regional Championships at Lindenhurst Middle School.

Nine bands totaling well over 500 students took to the field in competition. As the host school, Lindenhurst took the field last and put on a fiercely energetic and flawless performance that earned them first place in Division III-A with a score of 87.9, winning the caption awards for best music, best visual, best overall effect and best color guard. In addition, they won best individual music in the entire show.

The students have worked tirelessly to perfect their program and are looking forward to one more major competition in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on Nov. 6, when they compete in the USBands A Class National Championships.
