Science research program students win big at the Long Island Science Congress
Each year the Lindenhurst Science Research Program empowers students to design and perform their very own research projects. Our students, supported by their teacher Christine Sanfratello, diligently worked throughout the year to design their experiments, collect data, and draw valid conclusions. In April, students of the science research program presented their original work at the Long Island Science Congress, a prestigious exhibit for high school students that is sponsored by STANYS.
We are happy to announce that Armina Yetimoglu (gr. 11, pictured below) was awarded Honors Achievement for her research project, Flight Dynamics: Exploring the Impact of Wing Design on Fighter Jet Speed. Jillian Ruby (gr. 12, pictured below with Mrs. Sanfratello) was awarded High Honors for her research investigating the effects of basalt mineralization on ocean acidification. Honorable Mention was awarded to Natalia Luberska, Keira Hubschmitt, Yaroslav Serbyn, and Victoria Salib.
Congratulations to all of our young aspiring researchers!
