Free Breakfast and Lunch Services Offered

Please be advised that breakfast and lunch meals are temporarily FREE for all district students. This emergency service will continue until June 30, 2021 unless the federal funding runs out prior to that date.

All students can obtain breakfast and lunch at no charge on days when they are in school or learning remotely. Additionally, on in school learning days, students can take meals to go, for consumption on virtual learning days and weekends. The service is provided by all district schools. For those students who have elected to participate in the remote learning model exclusively, meals are available to be picked up at the High School outside of the back doors to the kitchen between the hours of 8AM-10AM, Monday – Friday.


Elementary Classroom Meal To-Go Distribution Authorization Form

CLICK HERE to complete the Elementary Classroom Meal To-Go Distribution Authorization Form. This will allow for meals to be distributed to students in the classroom prior to dismissal for consumption during virtual learning days. Please note that this form must only be completed once.


Free and Reduced Application Information

Please be advised that to provide the most cost-effective services to the community and simplify the free and reduced application process, the district has made the decision to utilize the free MySchoolApps service.  The service guides parents through the application process and confirms that all necessary information has been provided before submission.
The cost savings are not the only benefit.  Parents will appreciate the convenience of being able to apply for the free and reduced meals securely, from anywhere, using any device that is connected to the internet.  Additionally, the MySchoolApps service accommodates users who are fluent in both English and Spanish.
Due to current safety regulations, if you wish to apply for free and reduced meals and do not have access to the internet or a facility which offers internet usage, such as a local library, MySchoolApps kiosks will be made available at both the Lindenhurst High School and at the McKenna Administration building by appointment only beginning September 9, 2020.
